In contrast to the previously realized reconstructions of buildings dating from the mid-19th century (the large departure hall, its tower buildings B and D), buildings E and F, where the new urban passage is being built on Hybernská Street, are a conversion of the post-war layer, built on a site damaged by air raids in the 1950s. The author of both parts is the architect Parkman, and although his handwriting bears signs of the style of socialist realism and the somewhat generalising tendencies of the reconstruction of station buildings, it is still a high-quality, well-proportioned architecture with many details.

The major transformation is the relocation of the ticket office to the front of the station and the creation of a new urban shopping passage. In addition to Parkman’s “sorely”, glass appears as a new layer of architecture in the subtle metal frame of the shopfronts with rhythmically arranged portals, inserted into the space in such a way as to only formally, not visually divide it, and thus make the original volume stand out.
